Abstract
The Transport Geography Research Group would like to draw your attention the following opportunities for postgraduates and early career researchers at the 2011 RGS-IBG conference.

1. Open session for Postgraduate Researchers sponsored by the TGRG.
This session is for postgraduate students in any aspect of transport geography that is not covered by the themed sessions sponsored by TGRG in 2011. (Themed sessions include Sustainable Freight Transport and Governance). Presenters are encouraged to submit a paper for the Postgraduate Prize and priority will be given to papers intending to enter for the postgraduate prize.*

2. We will also be holding an Early Career Researchers Symposium on “Progress in Transport Geography”.
This is organised jointly with the Arbeitskreis Verkehr of the German Geographical Society. The session will provide the opportunity to meet with other Young Researchers in transport geography and share ideas. The focus will be on skills development and establishing a network for now and as your career develops.

*The TGRG has a small prize for the best postgraduate presentation in one of the TGRG sessions at the RGS-IBG 2011 Conference. If you wish to enter for the Postgraduate Prize a full paper should be submitted to the Chair and Secretary of TGRG, prior to the conference date for judging (further information on this will be available in due course). While early career researchers are encouraged to submit conference abstracts for the joint session, only work presented as a result of a Masters or PhD study will be eligible for the prize.
